Capsule Collection
In the myth of Mebuyan of the Bagobo Tagabawa tribe, I got my inspiration from a particular scene that led me to an absurd technique for the fabric manipulation -- abortion.
The collection was entitled UNd&c. ‘Un’ refers to the prefix ‘not’ and ‘D&C’ refers to the medical term of abortion which was ‘dilation and curettage.’ Combining, the title means “do not dilate and curette.” More so, “do not abort.”
See what could have been a piece of art, a work of life, if these shattered pieces were united altogether.
Sakura
Bobson Japan Design Competition
The collection is inspired of the fragile beauty of a Cherry Blossom (a.k.a Sakura). Even though its life is terribly short, people eagerly await to witness its impermanent beauty.
This is my take on how I #RedefineDenim,
“Hardening what’s too soft; and softening what’s too hard.”
Hardening the concept of Cherry Blossom with Denim, and softening the concept of Denim with Cherry Blossom.
Tulle meets denim -- denim meets tulle.
